After years of operating as the front runner in the field of natural beard stimulation, we felt the need to write a small blog post about this topic. Also, since our instagram DM is full of questions like:

“Do beard rollers actually work?”, “What does a beard roller do?”, “Is microneedling for beard growth a good idea?”

Well, let’s tackle these questions once in for all.

Because when you think about it, it’s no more than 6 years ago that microneedling your beard and the skin underneath it was a completely new thing. So, bare with us and let us break these topics down.

Also, if you're wondering if the Beard Roller you’ve been eyeing on our website is a derma roller? *Insert drum roll*... The answer is yes!

What is microneedling-technology and where did it come from?

Micro-needling, also known as derma rolling, is nowadays considered as popular skincare, hair growth and scar reducing treatment, but did you know that it has been around for centuries?

Oh yes.

The method involves rolling a device covered in tiny needles over the surface of the skin and thereby creating thousands of microscopic “holes”. This may sound intimidating, but it is a safe and effective way to improve both skin appearance and stimulate hair growth - if it’s done correctly.

Ancient chinese practice

The practice of derma rolling dates back to ancient China, where it especially was used to treat scars and improve the overall appearance of the skin. Over time, the practice spread to other parts of Asia and eventually made its way to the Western world.

The modern derma roller was first introduced in the early 2000s in mainly women’s cosmetics. Back then the length of needles were only ranging in length from 0.2mm to 3mm, which made them effective for skin rejuvenation but not for stimulating hair- or beard growth.

Today the length of the needles is longer and the metal needles have now been switched with titanium. Same technique, but different hardware.

So what was only considered to be used to improve the appearance of the skin can now also be used to stimulate hair- and beard growth. This discovery is particularly beneficial for individuals who are experiencing hair loss and for men who are struggling with beard growth.

What makes our Beard Roller different?

Besides the fact that we coined the term back in 2017, our Beard Roller is a derma roller specifically designed for facial hair growth - in other words, a “facial hair roller”, some even call it a” beard growth roller” or a “beard derma roller”. No matter what you choose to call it, it's essentially a derma roller for beard growth. But it is in no way or form just a regular derma roller.

Through a long trial and error process we have completely redesigned the old school derma roller and given every aspect a new spin. This next generation roller is specifically designed to stimulate beard growth and is made with superior quality materials.

The Copenhagen Grooming Beard Roller is made with 540 titanium micro needles and the frame and structure are crafted with super high-end materials resulting in a very high durability - much higher than the majority of derma rollers.

Additionally, the Beard Roller is designed to be easier and more comfortable to use, clean and store, making it perfect for those who are new to derma rolling.

How does it work?

Now you are probably wondering: Do dermarollers/beard rollers work?

Yes!

Our dermaroller a.k.a. The Beard Roller works by creating tiny micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. This, in turn, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for healthy skin and hair.

Additionally, these tiny “micro-injuries” help to increase blood flow to the skin’s surface, which helps to increase the number of new hair follicles, leading to a thicker and fuller beard. To maximize the real potential of our Beard Roller, we would strongly advise you to combine with our Beard Growth Serum; the Activator.

We've included both + our beard roller cleanser in our Beard Growth Kit.

How to use our Beard Roller

Now that we’ve covered the elements of the Beard Roller, using one is much more simple to use than it sounds. In fact, boosting beard growth is a relatively effortless process.

Pro tip: when buying The Beard Growth Kit, you ensure that you have all the necessary tools to stimulate your beard to its fullest potential and you ensure that your Beard Roller is free of bacteria before rolling.

Here's a quick guide to how you use The Beard Growth Kit:

Step 1:

Spray The Cleanser on the entire Beard Roller head to sanitize before use, and to avoid skin irritations

Step 2:

Roll The Beard Roller on your desired areas. 10 times vertically, 10 times horizontally and 10 times diagonally. Roll every third day. Don’t press too hard, you should feel it but it shouldn't hurt.

Step 3:

Apply The Activator Serum to the target areas daily. It’s a leave-on serum, so remember to wait 5-10 minutes and let it fully absorb, before applying any other products.

Overall, using a derma roller, and preferably one that is made for the purpose; The Beard Roller, is an effective and efficient way to stimulate facial hair growth and achieve a fuller, thicker beard.

FAQ

Does a derma roller work for beard growth?

Yes! Our dermaroller a.k.a. The Beard Roller works by creating tiny micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. This, in turn, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and boosts blood flow to the follicles, which are essential for a healthy beard growth.

Do beard rollers actually work?

Yes, beard rollers have been shown to be effective in promoting hair growth. The roller works by stimulating the blood flow to the hair follicles, which helps to promote hair growth. Studies have shown that using a beard roller can increase the thickness and number of hairs in the beard in as little as 4-6 weeks. Additionally, beard rollers can help to reduce itchiness and beardruff, as well as soften and condition the beard.

What is beard microneedling?

Beard microneedling, also known as beard rolling or microneedling on beard, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to create hundreds of microscopic punctures in the skin. The punctures stimulate the body to produce collagen and elastin, which in turn can help to boost blood flow and nutrition distribution to the follicles. It can thereby help improve the texture and thickness of the beard.
